A 'Thank you' goes to all the participants as you have the courage to step to the plate when and where it counts. This is how you can create or fortify the reputation of being able to judge the sporting value of a young racing pigeon by just looking at the bird's eye. Such a reputation cannot be retained by hiding for fear of being less than 100% correct.
You are invited to try your hand at
the following game:
Below you will find thumbnails of 80 eyes chosen from the 2001 Alberta Classic entries (mainly August and September games). (Clicking on any thumbnail will enlarge it for you)
All images were taken under identical conditions and received identical processing!
It will be your
challenge, should you accept it, to select the top 8 birds in this group of 80.
Please write down your selection on a piece of paper ( the numbers of the thumbnail images ) and then go to the next page where you can enter your selection.
You would be expected to be able to pick one of the top 8 birds by chance alone. Anything better than 3 birds would be significant and would show that you can use eye pictures to
select for young bird flying ability.
The band number will be added to each eye after the games are closed and you will be able to judge yourself of how well you did after the race season.
We are sorry but this game is now closed
Please refer to the race results page to perhaps find some characteristics common to the poorer performers or characteristics common to the shining stars of the year 2001.

Of the 40 eyes shown in this game, I think that the 20 birds with the
following eyes will perform better in the 2001 Alberta Classic Derby
than the 20 others who I do not write down here.
